First of all let me tell you what I know about international moves. You can choose to either handle all the aspects of the move by yourself, which is not an easy task, or to hire an experienced forwarder with worldwide capabilities that can arrange international moves from the US. Their services include everything from pick up, transportation to the port in US and then delivery from the port to your new home in your country of destination (Australia for that matter), as well as packing, unpacking and all the paperwork required for the move.
For international movers to Australia I would suggest you to request several free quotes (check here http://www.movingmatrix.com/Move-Types/international-move.php). This will give you an idea how costly it might be to hire such mover.
From my personal knowledge Sterling International and Rainier Overseas Movers have good reputation, and there are couple of others.
In any case before hiring an international mover I would recommend you to check his public record using our site (we do it for free as well).
Good luck with your move,
