Question by skellertravelrn (Sandi)
Will I pay extra for two separate pick-ups in my move?
Will I be charged extra for movers to pick up boxes in 2 locations that are local?
Yes, local moves are always billed by the amount of time it takes for the move, as well as the number of movers you use. So you'll pay for the extra time it takes your movers to go to the second location to pick up the boxes – be sure your moving company knows you’re going to do this and ask them precisely what the charges will be.
Also, it will go much more smoothly if it’s clear where all of the items are going in the separate locations, so be sure you have all that organized when you’re combining your items at the new place. Also make sure there aren’t any challenges associated with the second pickup – a street not big enough for a moving van, a need for the movers to walk a long distance, stairs, etc.
Good luck with your move,
