- This company is not an agent for any major van lines
- Licensing information: USDOT 585130, NYDOT-T 32832, DOCA-904821, ICC-MC 283939
- Services offered: local, long distance, storage, commercial, international, antiques, art, pianos.
- Contact Information: toll free: 800-989-6683
- Members of: no known movers association specified
Safersys.org reveals the following information:
- Licensing info: same as on their site
- Trucks: 22 (its a big company)
- Phones: (718) 585-8900
- Office location: 79 Alexander Ave, Suite 31-A Bronx, NY 10454
- The information in the Safersys.org report indicates no problems with their license, but one problem with their insurance: the BOND section says "Required: YES", however none is on file. Make sure you mention it when talking top their sales representative.
- Inspections section shows statistics below the national average for the vehicle out-of-service rating, however it is way higher then average for the driver rating. In addition they where involved in one crash resulting in an injury and two resulting in towing.
This company is operating both in New York and in San Jose, California, therefore they have two BBB reports. This summary is taken from both reports:
- Not members of the BBB
- Original Business Start Date: January 1984
- Address - same as in SaferSys.org
- This summary was listed under Nature of Business: "Consumer complaints have indicated that this firms movers are repeatedly late to appointments. Consumers also report extended delivery time, non-delivery of property and damaged property."
- Number of complaints processed in the last 36 month: 19 in NY and 81 in CA, total 100. Complaints issues are from every possible spectrum of services.
- New York State Movers & Warehousemens Association: not listed as a member
- MovingScam.com: the company is on their blacklist. (See here). They recommend to avoid using this company. In general I found numerous threads advising people to avoid using this company.
- ConsumerAffairs.com: this page lists 4 complaints on this company. See those complaints here
- Other Sources: found at least 4 more places where this company is mentioned, all negative.
Summary:
I would not recommend using this company. This company performes many moves, as indicated by the size of their fleet. However, being mentioned so often as a scammer, and having such a rich portfolio of complaints on BBB, their public record indicates that every second move they do result in customer dissatisfaction one way or another.
If you still decide for some reason to hire this company we advise you to take some protective steps. Follow the guidelines in our Moving Guide regarding closing deals with movers and understanding your estimate, and make sure you insist on having an on-site visual and getting a binding estimate (but that should be done regardless of who you choose for your move).
