Question by bwendy2 (wendy)
Moving one piece of furniture
what would it cost to move one piece of furniture (a dresser) from VA to CA?

Answer by alexzehn (Alex Z.)
Wendy,
It might prove to be more expensive than the cost of the dresser itself (unless it is an antique piece of art).
Long distance movers would require a payment for minimum weight for such shipment. Minimum weight varies from company to company, usually in the range of 1000-2000 lbs. With about $0.60-$0.80 per lb you are looking at something in the range of $600-$1600.

Good luck with your move,
