Question by SJaffe (Sandra Jaffe)
I have damage to furniture that was moved on 4/16/08. I cannot get the movers to do repairs on the furniture. All I have is the license Number on their business card. I only have a company name, but no address is available. How do I find this company's address?

Sandra,
Try the following:
- If the license that you have is their USDOT or MCC you could try to locate them through http://www.safersys.org/CompanySnapshot.aspx. You could also try to enter their name and search by it.
- If it is their local license then depending on the state there could be a way to find them using your state DOT (look for your state DOT website and other resources here.
- Run a search on the BBB for their name. If they are not a new company chances are you will locate them.
- If nothing works you could try to run a search for their name in your favorite search engine. Chances are you will either see their ads on yellow pages or other sites, or yu will find articles about them on consumer sites.
Hope tat helps.
Good luck with your move,
