Finding an agent of major Van Lines
Susie,
I assume you are talking about major van lines, United Van Lines, Graebel Van Lines, and I would assume Atlas Van Lines (since there is no nationwide van line called Atlantic Van Lines, only small companies that adopted this name).
Here is what you should do to find an agent of each of those companies in your area:
Good luck with your move,

2. How do I avoid a moving scam?

5. Finding a good moving company (DC to TN)
6. Finding a mover in Winston-Salem, NC
7. Movers that specialize in moving pianos
8. How to choose between 3 bids, 2 volume-based and 1 weight-based?
9. What companies should I use to when moving to Australia?

Question by sadamson30 (susie)
We are moving from Greensboro, NC to Maplewood, NJ and want to hire movers to help us load and unload the contents of our 3 BR house. Friends have recommended United, Atlantic, and Graebel. Can you tell us anything about the local movers for these three firms? I can't recall the company we used to move down here but they did a terrible job and it was very stressful for us. Obviously, I want to avoid that happening again. Thanks.

Here is what you should do to find an agent of each of those companies in your area:
- United: go to http://www.unitedvanlines.com/mover/welcome.jsp?primary=FINDAGENT, select your state and then choose your metro area. In your case the search gave me two agents - Lawrence Transportation Systems, Inc. in Greensboro, and Hilldrup Moving & Storage in Burlington.
- Atlas: go to http://www.atlasworldgroup.com/find-agent/, select your city+state or zip and a radius (I chose 75 miles). In your case the search gave me four results - City Transfer & Storage Company (2 locations, High Point and Winston-Salem), Crofutt & Smith Moving & Storage (Raleigh), and Security Relocation Group of Raleigh, Inc (Raleigh).
- Graebel: Graebel is a bit different since they have Graebel owned and operated service centers instead of agents. Go to http://www.graebel.com/Public/Locations/ and choose your state. In NC there are two service centers - one in Raleigh and another in Charlotte.
Good luck with your move,
