Hi. I would like to get some reviews on Cross USA Moving Company.
I am moving from NY to Seattle, WA; and i have received quotations from different moving companies. We have streamlined our choices to Key Moving and Cross USA. We are unable to find enough information about it. thus wanted to get some guidance from you.

Thanks

Cross USA Moving Inc, USDOT#1505965

Safety Of Use Rating: NOT RATABLE
(see how we calculate SOUR)

This company is very young, less then a year in business. We were only able to find some information about it, and since their BBB file is still pending we would not rate it for now.

From their website :

Could not locate any website - probably they have none.

From Safersys.org:

Safersys.org reveals the following information:
  • Licensing info: US DOT #1505965, MC #565043
  • Trucks: 4.
  • Phones: (212) 220-3607
  • Office location: 15 W 39th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10018
  • The information in the Safersys.org report indicates no problems with their license and insurance. According to the DOT records this company was granted authority on 07/19/2006.
  • Inspections section shows the following statistics:
    - Driver out-of-service rating: above the national average
    - Vehicle out-of-service rating: below the national average
From Better Business Bureau:

This is what the BBB file shows: "This business recently came to our attention. We are attempting to gather information on the business. Please check back in four to six weeks. ".

The address listed in the file is in the Bronx (225 East 134th St., Suite 5I, Bronx , NY 10451)

From other sources:
  • MovingScam.com: no mentioning of that company on MovingScam.com
  • ConsumerAffairs.com: no mentioning of that company on ConsumerAffairs.com
  • RipOffReport.com: no mentioning of that company on RipOffReport.com
  • Complaints.com: no mentioning of that company on Complaints.com
  • MoverReviews.com: no mentioning of that company on MoverReviews.com
  • Other Sources: no other mentioning of that company found elsewhere.

Summary:

As I said earlier, this company seems to be very young. Since you are moving long distance I would generally not recommend moving with such yound companies (although it could be a very good company - I simply don't have enough tools to establish that fact).

I would say lets wait for the BBB file to appear, but then again - I am not sure you have that time in reserve.

So I would basically recommend you to do some more shopping around to see what other companies have to offer. You can get few quotes from several long distance movers right here. In any case, never book with a company that did not perform a visual estimate in your house and did not give you a flat price for your move. Also, check this thread to learn How to find a good moving company.

Good luck with your move,
