Question by makeroftoys (david)
Estimate range for a storage room move from MA to CA
What is the range of cost estimate by volume for a cross-country move? My stuff fills the space of 10x20 storage room that has driveup access.
I can move any time. You tell me when is cheapest.
I am moving from Medford, MA to Berkeley CA.

Since it is a 10' X 20' storage unit we can safely assume that your shipment takes around 1200 cubic feet. Translating to weight it should be around 8400 lbs.
Moving in the summer (or in the end of the month) will cost you more then during other seasons, so assuming you will choose a more price effective timing your estimates should be in the range of $0.65 and $0.90 per lb (since this is a very popular route for long distance moves), therefore your move should be estimated within the range of $5400 and $7500.
You should be aware of possible extra charges - read this thread about what those charges are and how to deal with them.
Good luck with your move,
