What can you tell me about the reputation of Partner Van-Lines DOT 1297672? I am moving from Northern California to New York City.

We received the following information about this company that influenced their SOUR rating:

  1. Number of trucks: Partner have 1 trailer for long distance moves and 7 local trucks (24' and 26'), DOT only lists the interstate one. We informed the company to take steps to make this update official with the DOT.

  2. The compnany does not use regular sales people, instead they have 9 CMCs (AMSA Certified Moving Consultants, http://amsastage.e-net.com/Article/CMCList.asp, search for Mountain View, CA )

  3. In addition to that their movers are also certified by AMSA (http://www.promover.org/NewMoving/COIC/cert_Moverlist_I.html)

  4. Number of BBB complaints: grew from 3 to 6.
The last increase however was not felt strongly on the SOUR rating, since we greately underestimated the number of trucks this company has (and as a result the estimate for the number of moves it performs). Also, they work closely with AMSA, which is a good sign for the consumers. Overall, we would recommend using this company.

Summary:

I would to be cautious about using this company. Although we only found few complaints and they seem all to be resolved, the size of its fleet indicates that it is a very small company. If you move long distance it is almost guaranteed that your shipment will be delivered by a different company.

I would recommend you to do some more shopping arround to see what other companies have to offer. You can get few quotes from several long distance movers right here. In any case, never book with a company that did not perform a visual estimate in your house and did not give you a flat price for your move.
