The cost of piano move
What would be the price range for moving an upright piano approximately 8 miles in Des Moines, IA? 3 outside steps at both houses.

Since we are talking about Iowa which is a very specific market I would recommend you to try getting several quotes from piano movers (you can start by requesting some quotes here).
In general, piano movers have specific rates for different types of pianos, although in some cases those moves are handled like regular local moves with additional piano fee.
Make sure you only hire movers that can prove a history of piano moves and that come with special piano moving equipment. Calling music stores that sell pianos for mover references is also not a bad idea.
