Moving Furniture
I need to move a desk that is fairly heavy from upstairs in my home to downstairs in my husband's office. Is this going to be very expensive?

Answer by bobfein (Bob F.)
Moving one item shouldn't be too expensive, but you should call two to three moving companies in your area for a pricing estimate. Make sure that the movers come to your house so that they can actually see your desk, rather than receiving a quote over the phone. This will allow them to actually see your desk and the stairs where the move will occur. Make sure they lift it to get a sense of the weight. From your two to three moving quotes determine what movers you would like to work with. This should also be based on their licenses, years in the business and of course price.
Good Luck!
Good luck with your move,
