Question by cdarkraver@aol.com (chris)
Consumer Report: Men On The Move USDOT #526079
Has anyone ever used Men On The Move in here?
I've seen their trucks all over the place and was wondering how they are.
I am moving from New Hyde Park, NY ...not sure if we are going to Florida or storage at the moment. May have a tag sale to get rid of everything....still not sure.
Men On The Move's USDOT# is 526079
I will list the other dot's I found on their website: NYDOT#T11671 and ICC#MC247328
Thanks,
Chris

Summary:
I believe it is very safe to move with this company. Their storage record also seems to be ok, although I always recommend the consumers to visit the storage facility before storing anything there. The company has a relatively large fleet of trucks and has been around for couple of decades.
We would generally recommend using this company for a local move, however in case of a long distance move before making your choice you should ask them the following questions:
- Who is going to deliver your stuff to the final destination? This company is not an agent of any major van lines, so they either have their own interstate trucks, or they use a subcontractor.
- If they use a subcontractor it will still be OK to use them - as long as you run a similar investigation of the company they plan to subcontract your job to. Get the name of the company they use for delivery, however keep in mind that there are hundreds of independent truck owners that small and medium size companies use as subcontractors.
Good luck with your move,
