Tipping for a Local Move

What do you tip when move is small (not whole house) (four to five hours) and under 10 miles to new residence?

Answer by bobfein (Bob F.)

First of all, congratulations on your move! Regardless if you are moving a short distance or a long-distance, you should consider tipping your mover -- although across the industry it is considered optional.

In general, you should tip each mover $20 for a full-day of work or $10 for a half-day. You should also offer your mover food and drinks throughout the day, as well as make sure that they take sufficient breaks.

Happy Moving!

Good luck with your move,
