Long distance move from Maine to Seattle on small budget
Hi, We're from a small town in Maine to Seattle and had decided to use a U-Pack service. We have to hire local movers to get to the nearest terminal, which is 2 hours away as they won't bring a trailer to our town and I'm pregnant and can't do much lifting. We thought this would be cheaper than having long distance movers do the entire move, but now I'm not so sure. Adding the travel times for the local movers, it seems our move to Seattle might come to $800 plus $2171 for 10' of space in the trailer to Seattle. Then we have to add on the local move in Seattle. Will this still be cheaper than hiring movers to do the whole trip? Can you suggest any more cost-efficient ways to do this move for us? We've sold most of our furniture except a king-size and twin bed, and have probably an average amount of boxes for a 2-bed apartment. Thanks for your help! Kristin
